According to the Phased re-opening we can start back in June.
I will be doing zoom lessons for review starting next week.
Schedule and levels will be posted in the Bulletin board section.
Walt is a sweeping, gliding dance which twists and turns as it moves counterclockwise around the dance floor. The broad sliding steps and gentle sway give it a fluid rise and fall motion.
Tango is a strong passionate dance with sharp dramatic accents and controlled movements. The typical Hollywood rendition includes holding a rose in your mouth, pressing your cheek to your partner's cheek as you stalk across the floor.
A smooth walking dance. Like taking a stroll around the dance floor with a few quick steps and jaunty patterns for added character. If you imagine Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers gliding across the floor, most of the time it was a foxtrot based routine.
Cha cha is a fun flirty dance with fast footwork and body rhythms. It's related to the Mambo/Salsa and utilizes the triple step rhythm from the swing. The fast percussive dance fits easily to most contemporary club music.
Swing combines high energy music with various spins and turns to make this a fast fun dance people love. Jitterbug, Lindy, Shag, Jive and Westcoast are just a few of the names swing is known by.
Rumba is a slow romantic dance you can substitute for the traditional "hug and sway". It has a subtle relaxed leg and hip motion and various patterns all designed to fit on a small dance floor.
